When you arrive in the airport of Izmir, your private guide will be waiting to lead you to your own luxury vehicle, during a 40 minute ride to Ephesus, your guide gives you a brief info about the area and about the country.
As you arrive in Ephesus, you will first see the Magnesia Gate, a marvelous example of ancient architecture that once stood tall as an entrance to the city. Begin a downhill walk with your guide into the city’s ruins. The route will take you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. The theater, one of the city’s best-preserved monuments, it is still used today for the local spring festival. It once had seating space for 24,000 people, and it is believed to be the site where St Paul preached to the Ephesians.
After enjoying the Turkish cuisine at lunch, you will visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she spent last days of her life. Visit Temple of Artemis one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and Basilica of St John, before returning to arirport of Izmir where you tour concludes or hotel araund Izmir or Kusadasi.
Optionally, you may ask your guide for cultural demonstration of Turkish handicrafts and do a little shopping to spoil yourself after an intense day.

Ephesus requires walking long distances over uneven surfaces, comfortable clothing and closed toe, sensible walking shoes are recommended. Sunglasses and sunscreen are suggested.

Small group which makes a difference when visiting a large places and even though small group appreciated the hearing pieces from the group leader.
Yesim was interesting, informative and a wonderful guide. Our entire family enjoyed the day. Yesim made adjustments for our daughter's unexpected injury and wheelchair. We could not have seen ephesus on our own because of logistics and in hindsight we are glad we booked the day trip. Our three teenagers had fun and we were glad to hear Yesim explanations.
Thought it was a guided tour but all ok for independent tour guide gave good instructions was excellent to have pick up and drop off recommended

My husband and I booked a private tour of Ephesus while we were in port for one day. We didn't really like the tours offered by our cruise ship, so we opted for a customized tour. It only cost us about $20 more. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time on our tour of Ephesus and House of Virgin Mary. Our guide, Yesim, was so nice and a very knowledgeable tour guide. There were only 7 of us on the tour and we really had a nice time meeting the other people on our tour.
Love it ! Ephesus is simply beautiful. We had no trouble understanding our guide. Lunch wasn't fantastic but everything else is good!

This is good value for money, we were picked up and dropped off to the port. Our mistake was only taking the half day tour. Ephesus only needs a minimum 4 hour.
This is the perfect amount of time to see everything at Ephesus, especially with small kids.
